West Coast Fever fans were shocked by the news that Nat Medhurt wouldn’t be part of the Fever next season, but the coach says the former captain knew what was happening.
“Throughout that process, it was clearly understood between (Medhurst’s) management, Nat and the club that there was an option to extend but it was something to be agreed by both parties. So there was no guarantee for the 2019 season,” Stacey Markinkovic told 6PR.

“At the time in which we had the meeting, Nat did have two options on the table with other clubs. So she wasn’t actually blindsided.”
