Sports Minister issues a ‘please explain’ over Optus Stadium pitch security

The Sports Minister will meet with Optus Stadium management today after an animal rights activist managed to run across the oval during Saturday’s inaugural women’s derby.

Questions have been raised about whether security was adequate.

Mick Murray says they’re looking at the issue. Meanwhile Michael Thomson reminded listeners on Mornings with Gary Adshead about the serious impacts pitch invaders can have on player safety.
