Still waiting on a travel refund? Airlines still working through hundreds of thousands of bookings

Travellers still waiting for a refund for cancelled trips are being encouraged to check their terms and conditions and continue to be patient as airlines and agents continue to deal with the sheer scale of cancellations.

Director of retail and services at Consumer Protection Catherine Scott told Gareth Parker on Mornings consumers should be looking closely at their Ts and Cs and if there isn’t a refund built in, try and work with their supplier to find a way where both parties are happy.

Meanwhile Christine Ross-Davies from Attadale Travel outlined the sheer scope of what she and other travel agents were dealing with when trying to process her clients refunds. She says Emirates could potentially at a maximum deal with 35,000 refunds a month and there are 550,000 tickets on that refund queue.
