The Footy Show used to be a must-watch for footy lovers, or people who just wanted a bit of entertainment, but last night Nine announced they were ending the once-popular show.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford says last night they had a jump in ratings, but it was not enough to keep it going.

“It was over. It was absolutely over and even 25 thousand people jumping up was still good, it was still completely trounced by the Front Bar,” Ford told 6PR Breakfast.

“The show has been struggling for years, for several years,” he added.
