Time Wasters In Our Emergency Departments
A study out of UWA has found that up to 400 000 people who presented at Emergency Departments could have been seen by their GP instead.
Study lead author Associate Professor Alistair Vickery, from UWA’s Medical School Division of General Practice, spoke to Oliver Peterson today.
He said the burden of ED presentations was increasing and contributing to overcrowding, long delays in care and inefficiencies in WA’s hospitals.
