Too cheap; too early for flu vaccines
Doctors are blaming a cheap $6 vaccine for the country’s worst flu season, causing the AMA to question how the flu vaccine is delivered.
The President of the AMA Michael Gannon told 6PR Breakfast, they’re concerned about the vaccine’s effectiveness with cheaper options being made available and being delivered too early.
“We should start vaccinating later in WA, we have a later, milder winter. So when it comes to decisions being made on whether things are cheaper or whether you can get a commercial advantage by getting in early, that’s one of our concerns,” Dr Gannon told Steve and Baz.
