Unemployment up, but full-time work increases
The Federal Government argues a surge in full-time work, is a positive reflection of the state of the nation’s economy. Nearly 65,000 full-time positions were created last month, but the jump was partly offset by a drop in part-time jobs.
The jobless rate also grew to 5.6 per cent, as a result of more people looking for work. Employment Minister Michaelia Cash told Oliver Peterson it’s important to look at the broader picture.
