UnitingCare West will to shutdown its Girrawheen Men in Sheds program in November, devastating the group of men with disabilities which uses the service.

Margaret’s son has been attending the program for 8 years and spoke with Gareth about why the program is important to their family “It’s where they can relax and feel very happy within their own peer group. That’s the most important thing, it’s socialisation…It’s somewhere where they fit in because they don’t fit in within the community.”

Head of Service Operations at UnitingCare West, Michael Chester spoke with Gareth about why the decision was made to close the Girrawheen facility.
