What does the government’s $17.6 stimulus mean for WA?

The Prime Minister has unveiled a $17.6 billion stimulus package, designed to keep people in work.

Small business will be given assistance to help with their cash flow, and wage subsidies for apprentices.

Pensioners and Newstart recipients will receive a one-off $750 payment from the end of this month.

Scott Morrison says these are temporary measures to get through the current downturn.

A $1 billion fund will also be set-up for regional communities who may also be impacted from coronavirus.

Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA Chief Economist Aaron Morey spoke with Oliver Peterson about what the measures will mean for Western Australia.
