Police Union rejects McGowan Government’s latest pay offer
West Australian police have rejected a second pay offer from the state government, raising the prospect of new industrial action.
The WA Police Union said of the 6604 officers balloted, 63 per cent had voted not to accept the latest pay deal which fell short of its demands.
Paul Gale, Acting President of the WA Police Union, told Jamie Burnett, filling in for Oliver Peterson, that the offer is clearly not anywhere near where their members were asking for.
“This is clearly a political manoeuvre and I think it’s designed to water down the public support for police officers while presenting us as greedy,” he told Jamie.
