In a concerted effort to take on the overwhelming number of parliamentary seats held by WA Labor, it appears the state Liberal and National parties are tipped to form an official coalition ahead of 2025.

It would mean Nationals leader Shane Love would hand the reigns to Libby Mettam, building a similar hierarchy to their Federal counterparts.

Gary Adshead discussed the possibility of the merge on 6PR Mornings, stating that while it appears there will be some time before an agreement is met, it’s possibly the only way WA Labor can be beaten.

“[It’s] the only logical way back for government for the two parties,” Mr Adshead said.

And you could argue that Libby Mettam may have a better chance of swinging voters than Shane Love, a Nationals MP.”
