Eagles soar past Richmond to top of AFL Ladder
West Coast has smashed reigning premier Richmond by 47 points at Optus Stadium to move to first on the AFL ladder.
Jack Darling was the star of the show booting six goals with teammates Josh Kennedy and Mark Lecras also kicking three each.
Scores were level at half-time but it was the Eagles who broke open the match in the second half, booting 13 goals to 6 in the second half.
Elliot Yeo (29 disposals) did a terrific job nullyfying Dustin Martin (26) closely while Andrew Gaff (24) and Jack Redden (23) kept West Coast’s engine room running hot.
Jack Riewoldt booted five for the away side, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Eagles winning 9 on the trot – their biggest winning streak since 2005.
