Premier pledges support as BHP writes off $10 billion nickel project
The Premier says he’s extremely concerned about the possibility of three thousand job losses in WA — as BHP considers mothballing its nickel assets.
Several other miners have shuttered nickel operations in recent months because of the commodity’s falling price, due to an oversupply in the market.
Premier Roger Cook says the state and federal governments are exploring options – including royalty relief payments.
