Price will halt Electric Car growth
The Labor Government want more Aussies to buy electric cars, but veteran car salesman, John Hughes, says the Government would have to subsidise the cost if they want more people to be environmentally friendly.
“Don’t get me wrong, electric vehicles will come, I’m not denying that, but to get the price down you’ve got to be $5-10 thousand cheaper than they are at the moment,” Hughes told 6PR Breakfast.
Listener Bruce called in to tell us about his electric car while others chimed in with charging stations they’ve seen around WA.
The RAC has 11 charging stations between Perth and Augusta covering 520km, check out the map here.
