Principal’s death shines a spotlight on ‘day-to-day’ pressures in education
The tragic passing of a Southern Suburbs primary school teacher has once again outlined the daily pressures faced by teachers.
The principal suffered a heart attack allegedly only a few hours after being confronted by angry parents during a disciplinary meeting.
President of the Principals Federation of WA Bevan Ripp told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings he believes the confrontation was sparked by their child being suspended.
“I suppose that it’s really shone a spotlight on on this whole issue of the stresses that confront school leaders on a day-to-day basis,” Mr Ripp said.
