Professors blow the whistle on falling academic standards in Australian universities

Hundreds of university professors and lecturers have exposed declining academic standards, citing plagiarism, AI misuse, and lenient grading in a Senate inquiry.
Kevin Donnelly, formerly a senior fellow at Australian Catholic University, explained to Perth Live host Oliver Peterson that the issue isn’t new but has escalated, blaming a failure to monitor the standard of university degrees.
“There was no hard-edged research or methodology actually evaluating these undergraduate courses in particular,” he said.
