West Australian passengers from the Vasco Da Gama cruise ship have spent their first night on Rottnest Island as part of their mandatory 14-day quarantine period.

Passengers disembarked yesterday some heading to Rottnest while others were taken to various hotels.

Bunbury resident Ron is currently in quarantine on Rotto and told Steve and Baz they got a police escort to the holiday island and he doesn’t mind the view.

“We’ve probably got a fairly big unit here, three bedrooms. We’ve got beautiful ocean views,” Ron told 6PR Breakfast.

Meanwhile, we caught up with our friend Hans who last week spoke with Steve and Baz from the cruise ship, today Hans Peter says he’s been put up at Crown Metropol.
