Women aged 18 to 29 are four times less likely to cycle than men of the same age due to concerns about being hit by cars, lack of bike paths, aggressive drivers and sexual harassment, according to new research.

Monash University Research Fellow Dr Lauren Pearson spoke to 6PR Radio Perth Live presenter Oliver Peterson and said research found 92 per cent of women want to cycle but faced barriers including infrastructure, confidence, skills and knowledge.
