A Word on the Street from Suresh yesterday revealed the incumbent Bayswater mayor would resign from her councillor role if not reelected in this weekend’s local government elections.

Mayor Piffaretti still has two years left as a councillor meaning electors could be heading back to the polls within months.

City of Bayswater Mayor Filomena Piffaretti told Oly Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live she understands the timing ‘isn’t ideal’ but still believes she’s doing the right thing.
