Restaurant customer frustrated over tip being added to his bill without asking

A Sydney restaurant has responded after a customer aired his frustration over a tip that was added to his bill without asking.
The decision to tip is often the customer’s decision, however in this case the restaurant has made the decision for them.

CEO of the Restaurant and Catering Association Suresh Manickam joined 6PR Breakfast and spoke about the situation.
“The restaurant tried to opt in the customer to pay a tip, well that’s not the way it works, the way the restaurant has gone about it Manickham said on 6PR Breakfast.
