DoH entomologist Doctor Jay Nicholson told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings the warm weather has lead to the spread of the disease in an unusually early part of the year.

“That’s why it’s important that listeners are aware that the disease is out there at detectable levels right now,” Dr Nicholson said.
