On Thursday night the Royal Flying Doctors Service reached a significant milestone by performing their 100th patient retrieval since joining the fleet of fixed-wing aircraft.

The RFDS lead rotary doctor Dr John Iliff was a part of the life-saving retrieval and told 6PR Afternoons the helicopters have been incredibly successful.

“It’s been a great positive effect on health care in WA,” said Dr Iliff. 

“As the requirement grows, hopefully, we’ll possibly see more come into service.”
