RUMOUR CONFIRMED: Chris Dawson set to become next Governor of Western Australia
Police Commissioner Chris Dawson is set to become the 34th Governor of Western Australia.
Mr Dawson was appointed Police Commissioner in 2017 and will be the first police officer to be appointed Governor.
He’ll succeed current Governor Kim Beazley later this year, confirming a rumour on the John Hughes Rumour File by MOVING HOUSE.
Press PLAY to hear the announcement made on Monday by Mark McGowan.
MOVING HOUSE told the John Hughes Rumour File way back on the 9th of August that Chris Dawson was set to be the next Governor.
Tap PLAY to hear the rumour back then and Chris Dawson’s reaction when first asked about the rumour last year.
Chris Dawson Governor.. As heard first on the @6PRbreakfast John Hughes Rumour File in August 2021.
Never in doubt.
One of my fave ever responses from the Commish: “You’ve got a Rumour File to fill and I’ve got a Police Force to run.” pic.twitter.com/P2bQtBJrEO
