Security expert highlights flaws in MCG security following arrest of two armed men

Security at the MCG is under scrutiny after two men were allegedly able to smuggle guns into the Carlton v Collingwood match on Thursday.

Scott Taylor, a security, safety, and risk expert, alleges to Perth Today host Simon Beaumont that the same scanning and weapons detection system used at the MCG has failed in other countries, and that relying on AI technology isn’t enough.
“Aside from any tech, people need to be well positioned with additional training and support to pick up these people with bad intent,” he said.
