The wild weather has hit various parts of WA hard, with both metro and regional areas feeling the brunt of the storms.

More than 30,000 homes lost power, trees were uprooted and buildings destroyed in suburbs including Rockingham, Hillarys and Butler, as well as towns like Lancelin.

Nine News reporter Erin Harwood was on the gorund in Lancelin, and told Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons the town was one of the hardest hit, with winds up to 120 kilometres per hour.

“I’m at the Lancelin Sands Hotel, where one saide of their staff accommodation has basically been completely destroyed,” Ms Harwood said.
