A new campaign by Asthma Australia has encouraged Australians to phase out wood-fired heaters, citing health issues and air pollution as reasons to ditch the old wood-fired warmers.

Asthma Australia CEO Michelle Goldman told Oly Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live less than one in three people can protect themselves from their neighbour’s smoke.

“We get many calls from people who are frustrated, who need to make trips to the hospital for their children with asthma flare-ups,’ Ms Goldman said.
