The WA Liberals are continuing to critisize the State Government over the proposed changes to the Aboriginal Heritage laws, arguing farmers are being “effectively driven off” their leases because landowners don’t want to face legal risks.

Shadow Minister for Planning Neil Thomson told Russell Collett on 6PR Weekends he is handling hundreds of calls a dat from concerned landowners and leaseholders.

“The laws are just to prescriptive,” Mr Thomson said.

“Someone in the bureaucracy just sat down and thought they could define every single piece of action that people undertake on their land.”
