Single gay man becomes a father in surrogacy first
Victorian man Shaun Resnik has become the first single man to have a biological child through local surrogacy.
He told Steve Mills on Millsy at Midday that he now wants all states to come together so that the process isn’t so difficult for would-be parents.
“From start to finish, it was a three and a half year process,” he said.
“There was not one moment every day in those three and a half years that I wasn’t somehow thinking about ‘what’s my next step, how am I going to go about this?’
“Because I’ve now achieved this goal, I’d love for other people to have the same opportunities given to me.”
