The Minister for Local Government John Carey has been called in to mediate disputes at the City of Swan, where council meetings have reportedly been running until past midnight.

Swan City Council held a special meeting specifically to address councilor disputes, which have repeatedly hampered council business.

Mr Carey told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings the state government needs stronger powers to intervene in local government issues.
