Solar buyback tariff reduced; time to invest in batteries?
The State Government has made changes to its renewable energy buyback scheme – encouraging people to pump solar power to the grid during off-peak periods.
The current system pays people seven cents a kilowatt-hour regardless of when the electricity is fed back into the system.
Energy Minister Bill Johnston told Gareth Parker on Mornings they’ve now had to adapt to meet the growing number of homes with solar.
