Captain Pat Cummins and fellow paceman Mitchell Starc have put Australia in sight of a series win on day three after a dominant last session in the third and final Test against Pakistan in Lahore.

Cruising at 3-248, Pakistan lost 7-20 in a chaotic final session to be bowled out for 268, with Cummins (5-56) and Starc (4-33) ripping through the hosts.

Pakistan incredibly lost their final four wickets for zero runs after Abdullah Shafique (81), Azhar Ali (78) and captain Babar Azam (67) all scored half-centuries.

Cummins’ efforts with the ball as well as his captaincy on day 3 was flawless, with Australia ahead by 134 runs with all 10 second-innings wickets in hand ahead of day four.

“We’ve got some life in this series and essentially Australia are the only side that can win this,” 6PR sports presenter Paddy Sweeney told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast.

“If you want to go back and watch these wickets, it is some of the best fast bowling you will see on pitches that weren’t offering a hell of a lot.”
