For over 40 years, local prospectors have searched in vain for Tracker’s Gold Reef.

The story precedes the gold rush and tells of Tracker’s journey in finding and then losing the location of an untapped gold reef.

Tom Wenham, a South-West prospector, explains to Perth Today host Simon Beaumont that they believe their research has led them to the location.

“There’s been gold nuggets found all over the area of East Witchcliffe, which is only 9km southeast of the Margaret River townsite,” he said.
