A Southern River MP is on a crusade to replace speed bumps with chicanes.

Chicanes are like speed bumps but have a more defined shape which forces people to slow down.

Member for Southern River Terry Healy told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live chicanes are much more effective at slowing people down.

“They’re hard and sharp so everyone has to slow down,” said Mr Healy.
