St John Ambulance WA chief Michelle Fyfe resigns after months of turmoil
St John’s Ambulance CEO Michelle Fyfe has stepped down following months of scrutiny.
Her decision comes after record ambulance ramping and a surge in COVID-19 cases contributed to delays amid extremely high demand, with at least two deaths linked to issues with the service in less than a month.
Ms Fyfe was due to finish her contract in October but will step down on July 12.
United Workers Union National Ambulance Coordinator Fiona Scanlon told 6PR Breakfast it “welcomed the opportunity for ambulance services in WA to be put on the right track”.
