St John’s paramedic claims he was sacked over hospital conduct
A former paramedic claims he was fired from his job at St John’s on Thursday after an investigation sparked by a run-in with Fiona Stanley Hospital staff.
“Chris” became agitated with hospital staff after they refused to attend to his partner after a four-hour wait, despite her suffering chest pains.
A week-long investigation by his employer found he was acting “aggressively” towards hospital staff.
“She was triaged as a category 3, which means we’ll get to you within 30-45 minutes,” he told Liam Bartlett on 6PR Mornings.
A complaint was made to St John’s and Chris was later summoned to a meeting at work, where he was told his conduct would be investigated.
St John said it was investigating the matter and will take appropriate action to address the issues with the individual involved.
