State government implements speed reductions at warden-controlled crossings
About 165 warden-controlled crossings located outside of school zones will become subject to 40km/h speed limits as part of a $10 million program funded by the state government.
CEO of Constable Care Ian Anstee told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live, “I think it is long overdue, for the seconds it’s going to take us as drivers to slow down a bit and make sure our children are safe. I think it’s worth it.”
“Dropping [speed] it down to 40km/h is a really good move. And they’re [limits] only during term times, we have to just watch out for the signs.”
“I think anything we can do to keep our children just a little bit safer on the road is a good thing,” Mr Anstee continued.
