State Government set to overhaul Perth Casino after scathing Royal Commission
The State Government has announced it will overhaul Western Australia’s casino legislation, supporting the Perth Cassino Royal Commission’s findings current legislation is inadequate.
Carded play will be enforced on all electronic gambling machines and restrictions will be placed on the amount and length of time people can gamble.
Racing and Gaming Minister Reece Whitby told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live the overhaul is needed.
“It’s a cultural change… over the years there was a culture that developed between the regulator and the regulated which was unhealthy,” said Minister Whitby.
