Alastair Clarkson is going home to continue his remarkable AFL coaching career.

The four-time premiership coach has committed to coaching North Melbourne for the next five seasons, resisting deals from GWS and Victorian powerhouse club Essendon.

Kangaroos president Sonja Hood told members in a letter it was “real watershed moment for our club”.

“We’ve had a crash course in getting to know each other and Alastair’s passion to drive our club back to where we belong is incredibly infectious,” she wrote.
