Swan River dolphins struggling to survive

Article image for Swan River dolphins struggling to survive

Thanks to a committed team of volunteers we know the Swan River population is gradually increasing, despite issues still affecting newborns.

River Guardians Project Manager Jason Menzies told Simon Beaumont on 6PR Breakfast improvements to the river and catchment projects have increased its health, diseases are still claiming the lives of a portion of the dolphin population.

“Unfortunately we lost one of the three calves born this season, but pleasingly we have evidence the other calves are doing well,” Mr Menzies said.
