Swans stop Eagles streak
Inaccuracy hurt the Eagles as they attempted to make it 11 in a row.. and the Swans made them pay where it matters most, the scoreboard – winning the game 10.12.72 to 7.15.57.
Sydney remain the only side to beat the ladder-leaders – who now only hold the position by 3.5%
Elliot Yeo was terrific with 2 goals and 29 possessions while Eagles big-man Josh Kennedy kicked 2 himself. Apart from the pair, no other Eagle kicked multiple majors and it came back to the haunt West Coast – 7 goals and 15 behinds from a massive 63 forward 50’s.
Buddy Franklin booted 2 goals 5, teammates Ben Ronke, Will Hayward and Tom Papley helped with two majors each.
“We didn’t use the ball very well…”
“I was really happy with Gov’s (Jeremy Mcgovern) game. We were thinking about Oscar Allen coming in. Our back six held up their end of the bargain.”
Adam Simpson addressed the media post game.
