Swingin’ apes! Perth Zoo’s new gibbon crossing enclosure kicks off $11.7 million project
Works have now begun on a ‘primate crossing’ habitat at Perth Zoo where gibbons will be able to swing over visitors as part of the first stage of the $51 million dollar Perth Zoo Master Plan.
The $11.7 million project includes a new Parkland Heart precinct with updated visitor amenities planned to be finished by 2025.
Environment Minister Reece Whitby told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live “we’re taking it to the next level, we’ll have the best gibbon facility which it’s good for their welfare, it gives them more free range areas to get around in.”
