Syria civil war crippling UNICEF resources amid earthquake tragedy
Senior Emergency Specialist for Syria, Melinda Young, says UNICEF resources are already stretched across Syria as the nation is in the midst of a years-long civil war when Monday’s earthquake struck.
Ms Young told Millsy and Karl the last 10 years in Syria have been tough enough and the earthquake has put extra pressure on the country’s conflicts.
“It’s just layer upon layer of tragedy and disaster and we didn’t think it could get any worse but then two days ago to have an earthquake – is almost incomprehensible,” Ms Young said.
