There are calls for changes to laws that threaten lengthy jail terms for parents abandoning babies.

Tasmanian Labor Senator Helen Polley wants ‘Baby Safe Havens’ established to allow parents to be able to safely and anonymously drop off new born babies rather than run the risk of injuring the child.
