Governments are demanding tech giants such as Meta take more responsibility for the age verification of its users. Experts say major platforms need to work together to improve online safety.

Toby Murray, Cybersecurity professor, spoke to 6PR Afternoons host Julie-anne Sprague on the need for companies to do more.

“We’ve become used to this idea that its impossible for companies to figure out what the age of someone is online, and yet one would think that working together they would be able to solve this challenge,” he said.
