A dangerous drug available as run-of-the-mill kitchen supplies has forever changed the life of a Perth teenager, spurring a warning against its use and a call for changes to the law.

Molly Day said she developed an addiction to nitrous oxide after first using whipped cream charges – known as “nangs” – after first using them during Leavers.

Molly’s mother Nicky Day told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings her daughter started to decline rapidly after they found out her addiction was costing her hundreds of dollars a week.

It’s just wrong, there’s no other way to say it. It’s a drug addiction, and they’re servicing it,” Ms Day said.
