Telethon Kids Institute and NDIA partner to fund ‘groundbreaking’ program
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is partnering with the Telethon Kids Institute to fund new research into interventions needed for kids with Autism.
The pilot program will determine whether intervention in children showing early behavioural signs of autism could reduce the support needed later in life.
Telethon Kids Institute spokesperson professor Andrew Whitehouse told Oliver Peterson on Perth this is “groundbreaking”.
“The longer-term outcomes can be even better and… families in WA will get that chance to access that support,” said Professor Whitehouse.
“We’re removing barriers in their life so they can be who they want to be.”
