The Cats purr into Big Dance
Geelong are through to the 2022 AFL Grand Final after a thumping 71 point victory against Brisbane in the Preliminary final at the MCG.
The Cats enter the big dance for the seventh time since 2007, hoping to bounce back from their 2020 Grand Final loss to Richmond
Geelong dominated tonight from the first bounce lead by their skipper Joel Selwood, who next week will play a record-breaking 40th VFL/AFL finals match.
Midfielder Patrick Dangerfield was man of the match, racking up 28 touches and kicking two first quarter goals.
Defender Zach Tuohy spoke to the 6PR Football team post game;
“I thought we held up really well, and they had their patches on top, and we ran out the game convincingly which is nice”
All eyes all week will be on youngster Max Holmes if he can get up in time for next Saturday, after being subbed out of tonigh’ts match with a hamstring injury.
The winner of tomorrow afternoon’s Preliminary final between Sydney and Collingwood, will take on Geelong next Saturday.
