With the cost of living continuing to rise, Western Australia’s private school fees are not immune to price increases.

However, some believe the skyrocketing fees are not justified.

Policy sociologist & senior lecturer at Curtin School of Education Dr Brad Gobby paying for a private school allows parents to control who their child interacts with.

“What’s often not talked about is how paying for a private school, pays for the privilege to exclude certain children from their child’s schooling,” said Dr Gobby.

“It’s a segregation that’s happening in our education system.”
