A new study released by Monash University explores the emotional demands experienced by Australian principals, with multiple radical solutions proposed to better prepare young people for the outside world and deal with worsening teacher shortages.

Professor Jane Wilkinson, Lead Researcher at Monash University spoke with Julie-anne Sprague on Afternoons and said the four-day teaching week shouldn’t be used as a quick fix for teacher shortages.

“What we don’t want is it being used as a sort of a Band-Aid short-term approach to cover up for teacher shortages.”
