Child and adolescent psychologist Professor Helen Milroy has won the Order of Australia for her service to public health and the Indigenous community.

This is her second award after winning West Australian of the Year in 2021.

Helen Milroy spoke with 6PR Afternoons about what it was like to win the prestigious award.

The second West Australian to win an award was former Perth Zoo CEO and World Association of Zoos and Aquariums president Susan Hunt.

She has been awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for her significant contribution to animal welfare and public administration.
